Harness² makes it editable while model weights stay fixed. Task-level recursion runs a contrastive Propose–Probe–Compose step: the agent proposes edits to its own harness, probes the edits against the same task, and composes a refined harness from behavioural contrasts between executions — no ground-truth verifier, no external grader, nothing telling it what “correct” looks like. Harnessing-level recursion then folds adopted harnesses and evidence-supported lessons into a persistent improvement harness that guides later tasks, so the improver itself improves. Released Oct 6, 2026 (Apache 2.0), with the paper (arXiv 2610.14224) and PH launch following within two weeks. Reported gains: up to +11.5 points on WorkBuddy-Bench, +4.5 on JobBench, and +11.8pp partial pass rate on LAB, for both GLM-5 and Gemini 3.5 Flash; raising the recursion budget (--k) buys more. Why it matters for vibe coders: the executors are OpenCode and Codex, so this sits directly on top of a coding agent and rewrites its prompts, tools, and memory between runs — the closest thing shipping to “agents that tune their own setup.” Also the honest caveat: PH commenters rightly ask how it avoids degrading its own harness.
